Whats the easiest way to convert the .AI mod file, into a .DFX? I used adobe reader to open it as a pdf, but there are no dimensions at all? Should i open it as illustrator and try to save it as a DFX?

There will be many opinions on this, but we like to use Rhino. It’s not free for the PC, but the Mac version is still in Beta and is relatively fully-featured. Sign up for the free download at irhino.com. Blender and Sketchup are two other free options that might support the export you’re looking for.

    Also, do you mean DXF?

Lol my fault, yes DXF. I was on my cell phone, driving as i was wondering how to convert it, and my mind made a typo. I don’t own a mac so im A-ok. I’m sure i can source them up somewhere for free =)

My brother has adobe cs4 master collection, i’m gonna see if i can open the AI file in illustrator and save it to a DXF.

    Thanks

Yes, the CS4 version of AI allows exporting to dxf files.
