You might have noticed the paypal donation button down at the bottom of your screen. You might have been really tempted to show your support for open-source hardware projects like the DIYLILCNC with some cold, hard virtual cash.
But then you might have wondered, where does the money go? Why should I help two bearded goons such as Chris and Taylor line their techno-coffers?
Well here’s the rub:
-
You know those beautifully-formatted instructions you may well be pouring over as we speak? We’re having them printed into really nice, high-resolution, perfect-bound booklets. If you donate enough, we’ll send you one. (We’ll post more info as we work through the book-printing process.)
-
We’ll use the money to offset the hosting & domain name fees incurred from keeping DIYLILCNC.org online for you.
- We’ll use the money for supplies for future modifications to the DIYLILCNC, or maybe even a whole new project.
- We may use the money to offset travel expenses if we get invited to present somewhere that can’t afford to pay our way.
So think about donating. Even if it’s only $5, thats two more feet of Molex cable we can use in our next open-source hardware build.
Edit: Due to the vagaries of academia, we’ve taken the donations function off the site. For more info on $ support, contact us.
