As others have mentioned, I had a little trouble getting the belt pulleys to slide onto the y shaft. Probably the variance of the thickness of the stock matters for this. The pulley slid on fine on one side of the shaft but on the factory cut side it wouldn't. I ended up "tapping" the pulley on with a hammer and bending it a bit. Sanding either the inside of the pulley or the shaft seems preferable.
I also ended up having to re-do the belt clamps because I tapped them by hand and the treads didn't end up being straight enough. I definitely recommend tapping the belt clamps with a drill press or something similar.
