The RepRap project uses an Arduino setup to run their device. Could be worth looking into. We haven't tried it, but let us know if you do. Might be good for those working from the Mac platform.

I wouldn't mind making one of these after the diylilcnc! Then take the best from both builds and make a cnc mill/thermoplastic extruder. =P

Absolutely! Here's a guy who did a DIY Pinch Wheel Extruder. I know that Sparkfun has a similar item, but Chris will have to help me with the link.

Looks like it's this Plastruder MK4 Kit at MakerBot Industries. They also have a decent price on skate bearings.
